The Writer’s Den is a community of UCLA students who are passionate about stories. We believe perspective is essential to good storytelling and welcome writers from all sides of campus and walks of life. Whether you’re an English major or a Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) major, The Writer’s Den is here for you to share and craft your stories!

Our mission has two parts.

First, create a thriving forum of writers at UCLA.

We believe cooperation is the cure for writer’s block. Nothing draws the Muse like a crowd and our like-minded members often inspire one another. To encourage a creative environment, we have weekly meetings to share and create, workshops to focus on a particular skill, and socials to make friends while we procrastinate on our projects. We also hope to bring in speakers to learn from the writing community outside of UCLA. Please join us at meeting!

Fall Quarter 2018 meetings are Tuesdays at Royce 362.

We craft our club activities to best fit your needs and so please let us know if you have any recommendations for activities. Are you a UCLA student that want to join? Learn more here.

Second, help underserved communities in Los Angeles express themselves through poetry and prose.

We hope to help communities beyond UCLA and teach a life-long skill to local elementary, middle, and high school students. We go about this through our volunteering program, which allows us to share our love for writing and storytelling with students at underserved schools around Los Angeles. Looking to volunteer?
