National Poetry Writing Month

Hi all!

Today is the first day of April, also known as National Poetry Writing Month (napowrimo)! NaPoWriMo is kind of like NaNoWriMo in November, except instead of writing a novel, the goal is to write one poem each day (or whatever you want your goal to be.) So basically, awesome sauce! Even for those of us who don’t write much poetry, it’s a great opportunity to try out a new medium (not that we don’t always have the opportunity to try new things, but I digress.)

For those of you interested, I’ll be using this blog to post daily prompts, and keep you all updated on any literary events happening on or near campus. If you have an idea for a prompt, know about an event that I haven’t mentioned, or want to share your writing on the blog, shoot us an email at thewritersden@ucla.edu.
