What Can You Pen?

The Writer’s Den is hosting its second annual writing competition, open to all UCLA students! This year’s theme is:

WHY NOT?

At risk of sounding mega cheesy: why not participate? Submission is free, and prizes will be awarded in 2 categories: prose & poetry. Speaking of prizes…

1st place winners (in both categories) win a gift card & publication in the upcoming Westwind!
2nd place winners (in both categories) win a gift card & a personal illustration of their piece

The competition is judged by UCLA faculty & there is a 10 page limit on entries (sorry, writers of epic poetry and longer prose.) Please e-mail all entries to thewritersden@ucla.edu by Friday of 5th week (2/7/2014)! Please include your student ID number and major, as well as a fun fact about yourself, in the body of the email. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions (or if you just want to say hi!), you can contact us at the same e-mail address.

P.S. – check out last year’s winners by clicking here, here, here, here, and here.

Correction: a previous version of this post said the Writer’s Den e-mail address was theuclawritersden@ucla.edu. The e-mail has since been changed to the correct address, thewritersden@ucla.edu.
